Arrival and First Impression of Billings KOA

Billings KOA - First KOA!

KOA Billings MT is located on the eastern side of Billings and less than 2 miles drive from Interstate 90. This worked well for our journey since we were coming from the east. The interstate was under construction in the general area so travel with care when exiting and entering the highway. All surface-level streets were in good repair and easy to navigate to the campground entrance.

We had plenty of room to park temporarily while checking in without blocking the flow of traffic. When we arrived the campground looked empty. But, we never arrive that early, so maybe campgrounds always look that way in the mid-afternoon? Either way, the campground host led us to our site, Site 59.

The roads were wide and easy to navigate (see below). Our first impression was this was a very well-cared-for KOA! And we look forward to exploring it more.

Site 59 Overview

This side of the campground had larger spaces complete with concrete patios, swings, and picnic tables. Our site was very flat and level, which made for quick setup and take down! This is a huge plus on quick overnight stops! Hookup to the utilities (water, electric, sewer, and cable TV) were very easy and well within reach of our campsite. KOA Billings Site 59 offered an excellent open sky which allowed Starlink to connect.

Mini-Golf

KOA Billings Mini Golf
Billings KOA Holiday – Mini-Golf

This was hands down the nicest mini-golf I have seen at a campground. KOA Billings built a super amazing amenity. When we rolled up I expected we would be charged more for mini-golf, so it was a huge win it was no extra cost! Our kids played several rounds. In fact, mini-golf gave our kids something fun to do while I knocked out some work and Sara visited the grocery. We played a round later as a family and enjoyed each other’s company!

Thank you Billings KOA Holiday!!!

Dog Park at KOA Billings

Dog park isn’t quite the right word to describe this awesome playground for your four-legged friend! I have never seen anything like this dog park at Billings KOA. It’s part agility course, fetch area, and 100% amazing! A pretend fire hydrant is included for Fido to visit. Don’t tell Fido it’s not real! I missed Finn, our pup, as I watched the dogs and their companions having a blast. Next time!
